Since I’m constantly on the lookout for cool social marketing/ PSAs (and not just because I love City Harvest and have collaborated with them in the past), I bring you this ad for their food collection and redistribution program:
My current idea of my future career path has to do with fusing my backgrounds in the culinary world, media, and public health in order to create some kind of large-scale communications and PR effort which will draw attention to the dietary issues that need changing.
There are a few interesting social marketing campaigns that I am drawn to. The first is this SmallStep campaign, designed by The Ad Council, a publicity non-profit dedicated to making PSAs.
Created in conjunction with the Department of Health and Human Services, the ad campaign attempts to encourage healthier behavior in order to prevent overweight and obesity. The premise is that a few small changes in exercise and eating habits can lead to big ones which will promote longer, healthier lives.
